Job Description

Senior Regulatory Officer

We are seeking an experienced Senior Regulatory Officer to join our team in the Sydney CBD. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic and challenging environment, where you will have the chance to make a real impact on the community.

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing complex regulatory matters, providing advice to stakeholders, and implementing strategies to improve compliance with legislation and policies.

In this role, you will:

  • Develop and implement legal precedents and knowledge databases to support regulatory decision-making.
  • Manage a caseload of files, prioritizing tasks to meet quality and timeliness standards.
  • Conduct investigations, prepare reports, and provide recommendations to senior management.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with stakeholders, including complainants and agencies.
  • Support the achievement of timeliness and quality standards by team members.

This contract is available for an initial 8-month term, with likely extension options. The successful candidate will be required to undergo pre-employment screening checks, including ID and work rights verification, security clearance, and other client-requested checks.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage and resolve complaints, conduct investigations, and lead proactive regulatory compliance activities.
  2. Develop and publish regulatory guidance, manage projects, and maintain performance and quality control systems.
  3. Provide regular reports and advice to senior management, make recommendations, and identify early resolution strategies.

What You'll Need:

  • A strong background in local government and/or legal experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a high-volume, complex work environment.

What We Offer:

  • A competitive salary of $90,000 - $110,000 per annum, depending on experience.
  • A hybrid working arrangement, with the option to work from home or in the Sydney CBD office.
