Job Description

The Senior Legal Advisor plays a pivotal role in providing expert legal advice and counsel to the Executive Management of the Courts on critical issues affecting the organization. This involves delivering timely, authoritative, and strategic advice that aligns with the organization's objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing comprehensive advice on workplace relations matters;
  • Delivering high-level legal advice to the Executive Management;
  • Managing processes effectively, ensuring compliance with statutory guidelines;
  • Identifying potential disputes and promoting positive resolution strategies;
  • Collaborating with the People and Culture Section to draw upon human resources functions;
  • Developing strategies to address complex and sensitive matters.

Required Skills and Qualifications

Tertiary qualifications in law and admission as a practitioner of the High Court or Supreme Court are essential. A minimum of 3 years' experience as a legal practitioner or in-house counsel is also required. Experience in labour law and workplace relations is highly desirable, as is knowledge of Federal civil jurisdictions and relevant legislation.
