The Laboratory Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the laboratory, ensuring the quality of analytical testing, and maintaining a safe working environment. This role requires strong leadership and communication skills, as well as a thorough understanding of industry-related safety and training protocols.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement quality control systems and procedures to ensure accurate and reliable results.
- Manage and maintain laboratory equipment, including instrument calibrations and verifications.
- Supervise laboratory personnel, providing training and guidance as needed.
- Coordinate and schedule laboratory assignments and ensure timely completion of tasks.
- Review and analyze quality control data, identifying areas for improvement and implementing corrective actions.
- Collaborate with the Laboratory Director and Operations team to ensure seamless laboratory operations.
- Develop and maintain accurate records of laboratory activities, including quality control data and instrument calibrations.
Requirements
Minimum Position Requirements:
- Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline and 2 years of experience in a petroleum laboratory, or Associate's Degree in a technical discipline and 3 years of experience in a petroleum laboratory, or 5 years of experience in a petroleum laboratory.
- Strong managerial, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Effective communication and problem-solving skills.
- Thorough understanding of industry-related safety and training protocols.
