Job Summary

The Laboratory Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the laboratory at AmSpec Group. This includes managing laboratory personnel, maintaining quality control systems, and ensuring accurate and timely laboratory Certificates of Analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and improving the quality system to ensure compliance with industry standards.
  • Reviewing and analyzing quality control data to identify areas for improvement.
  • Preparing and implementing corrective and preventative action plans to address non-conformances.
  • Coordinating and scheduling laboratory assignments to laboratory personnel.
  • Performing analysis and maintaining accurate records for all client quality control samples.
  • Providing training to laboratory personnel and ensuring they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties.
  • Liaising with laboratory personnel, the Laboratory Director, and Operations to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Managing laboratory equipment and supply inventory, and coordinating the replacement or repair of faulty equipment and supplies.

Requirements

Minimum Position Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a technical discipline and 2 years experience in a Petroleum Laboratory, or Associate's Degree in a technical discipline and 3 years experience in a Petroleum Laboratory, or 5 years experience in a Petroleum Laboratory.
  • Demonstrate strong managerial, leadership, and interpersonal skills, and communicate effectively with employees, outside consultants, and management.
  • Possess a thorough understanding of industry-related safety and training protocols, and demonstrate the ability to grasp new procedures quickly and implement them.
