Project Overview

The Ontario Line Southern Civil, Stations and Tunnel (South Civil) package is a major infrastructure project being designed, built, and financed by Ferrovial Construction Canada Inc. and VINCI Construction Grands Projects.

This project will have a significant economic impact on Ontario, creating an estimated 1,500 jobs at the peak of construction.

Job RequirementsKey Responsibilities:
  • Review Shop Drawings: The ideal candidate will review shop drawings prepared by subcontractors' designers in accordance with project specifications and local standards.
  • Coordination: This role requires coordination with other departments to provide timely reviews and comments.
  • Forecasting: The successful candidate will assist in forecasting shop drawings review by designers.
  • Progress Tracking: They will track progress of shop drawings review and response to RFI/NCR.
  • Modification Tables: The candidate will keep a proper follow-up of modifications tables during construction.
  • Cost Inputs: They will provide necessary inputs to track designers' costs based on time and material.
  • Conflict Resolution: The candidate will coordinate with design teams and other departments addressing potential conflicts.
  • Design Changes: They will identify changes from design with quantity variations for design manager review.
Requirements:
  • A Masters degree in Civil Engineering or Construction Engineering is required.
  • The ideal candidate has experience in detailed design of building and civil infrastructure projects.
  • Solid knowledge of building design and previous experience working in design teams or external consultants are essential.
  • Familiarity with Autodesk software and other applicable common software in transportation engineering is highly desirable.
