AOD Practice Lead Role

This is a fantastic opportunity to join our team as an AOD Practice Lead, working directly and indirectly with young people, their families and carers where there are existing mental health and substance use issues (Dual Diagnosis).

As a key member of the multidisciplinary team, you will act as a role model and mentor to staff in providing evidence-based practice in their work with young people. Your work will involve collaborating with the Lived & Living Experienced Workforce (LLEW) and having a strengths-based recovery focus to the integrated care provided.

You will be responsible for:

  • Working closely with service leaders and clinicians to ensure that substance use issues are clearly identified and considered in treatment planning
  • Supporting consumers to access mental health services and other relevant community resources to assist in their ongoing treatment and recovery

To be successful in this role, you will need to bring:

  • Substantial experience of the AOD sector
  • A strong understanding of the Victorian public mental health system and relevant legislation
  • A deep understanding of recovery-focused care and an ability to work from a strengths-based approach across dual diagnosis
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing training and supervision as part of your role
  • Highly effective communication skills and the ability to engage with staff capacity building their skills and knowledge in the AOD area

  • A relevant qualification and current registration with AHPRA
