Job Title: AOD Family Reunification Specialist

About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated professional to support parents involved in child family reunification as an Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) specialist.

This role focuses on reducing AOD-related harm through assessments, counseling, and tailored care and recovery interventions for individuals required to undergo treatment as part of their reunification plan.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support parents involved in child family reunification by providing assessments, counseling, and interventions to reduce AOD-related harm.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualification in Health or Welfare, such as Social Work, Psychology, Nursing, or Allied Health Sciences.
  • Certificate IV in AOD or completion of core competencies within 24 months of employment.
  • Competencies in dual diagnosis or willingness to complete within 24 months.
  • Experience in assessment and counseling, preferably with AOD or dual diagnosis clients and families.
  • Skilled in therapeutic approaches, including Motivational Enhancement Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Coping Skills Training, Family Inclusive Practice, self-help groups, and Community Reinforcement Approaches.
