At Western Health, we are seeking an experienced Alcohol and Other Drugs (AOD) Outreach Clinician to join our team. In this dynamic role, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of patients presenting with substance use disorders.

The AOD Outreach Clinician plays a vital part in supporting the provision of short-term care to individuals with low acuity Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drug conditions across Sunshine Hospital Emergency Department and The MHAOD Hub.

Responsibilities:
  • Supporting the provision of short-term care to low acuity Mental Health and Alcohol and Other Drug conditions
  • AOD patient presentation management; screening, assessment, identification, planning, and treatment
  • Linking patients with appropriate community and/or hospital-based addiction treatment services
Requirements:
  • Analysed experience working within the alcohol and other drug field, preferably in an emergency department setting
  • Demonstrated clinical expertise in the assessment and management of patients with complex needs, including those experiencing mental health issues and/or substance misuse
  • Certificate IV in AOD or willingness to complete core competencies
