Drug Addiction Treatment Specialist

Our court system has a long history of providing justice for the people of Victoria. The Magistrates' Court of Victoria is a jurisdiction within the Court Services Victoria statutory authority, responsible for determining in excess of 300,000 cases per annum at 51 venues.
The Drug Court is an alternative sentencing option to offenders with drug and/or alcohol dependency who have committed offences while under the influence of drugs or alcohol.
About the Role
The Clinical Advisor will be responsible for providing evidence-based guidance and advice, treatment planning, and referral service information for the Drug Court and its participants.
Key responsibilities include:
- Undertaking comprehensive drug and alcohol assessments with potential Drug Court participants referred to the court.
- Designing a treatment plan and liaising with alcohol and other drug services to support participants in achieving treatment goals.
- Providing secondary consultation to other members of the Drug Court team and the judiciary.
This role presents an opportunity to make a positive difference to individuals, families, and the community by supporting best practice in therapeutic justice.
As a member of our multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to delivering effective rehabilitation services that promote recovery and reduce recidivism rates.
We are seeking a dedicated professional with strong clinical skills and experience working with clients with complex needs.
Key qualifications include:
- Relevant degree in social work, psychology, or a related field.
- Postgraduate qualification in substance use or addiction studies.
- Proven experience in providing clinical advice and treatment planning.
