Job Overview
A vital role exists for healthcare specialists to improve alcohol and drug treatment in the Emergency Department.

This position combines two roles with a weekend component designed to:

  • Enhance specialist AOD coverage and liaison services within the hospital.
  • Foster linkages between departments providing services to clients with substance abuse issues.
  • Implement an AOD screening tool in the ED.
  • Facilitate referrals to relevant community-based services.
  • Provide education and training on addiction within the emergency department.
  • Coordinate access to and follow-up for eligible clients.
Your Expertise
  • Nurse Practitioner – APHRA registration meeting Division 1 or 3 requirements. At least 5 years of clinical experience, preferably in addiction medicine.
  • Experience in Addiction Medicine and related fields.
  • Working knowledge of SSDTA and Victorian service sector.
  • Collaborate closely with the Access and Engagement Coordinator at a residential unit to ensure optimal support during client stays.
  • Certified criminal history check or willingness to obtain.
