Key Role in Capacity Building

The Service Development Manager will make a significant impact on the Aboriginal community housing sector through delivery of The Coolamon Project. This project provides support for ACHPs across governance, strategy, and operations.

The role involves leading targeted activities for capability uplift and workforce development throughout the sector.

Experience working at a managerial level within a similar organisation is essential, along with a track record of positive engagement working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities.

Occasional travel across NSW is required, but this position is based remotely, making it an ideal opportunity for those living in NSW to join this industry peak body.

  • Lead complex projects to completion.
  • Coordinate sector engagement and capability building.
  • Identify sector gaps and priorities through consultation and analysis.
  • Develop and commission tools, resources, and services to enhance sector capability.
  • Support service and workforce capability building through training.
  • Contribute to the promotion and roll-out of developed products and services across NSW ACHPs.

For this position, you will also bring:

  • Confirmation of Aboriginality;
  • Tertiary qualifications from a relevant field;
  • Knowledge and experience working with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people and communities, including cultural protocols;
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills;
  • Understanding of Aboriginal Community Housing, including logical, ethical, and human rights issues affecting Aboriginal people;
  • Proficiency in computer operation, including Microsoft Office, and ability to learn new systems;
  • Sound project management skills;
  • Willingness and ability to travel locally and regionally.
