Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Midwife Educator to join our team in Bunbury. As part of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and evaluating education and training relevant to the clinical practice of midwifery.

You will work collaboratively with Regional Nurse Educators to develop and deliver targeted education programs, ensuring compliance with essential competencies through effective documentation and record-keeping.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conduct Training Needs Analyses to assess the educational needs of midwives, nurses, and assistants within the ward/unit.
  • Facilitate evidence-based nursing care while adhering to the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia standards.
  • Provide orientation and development support for newly qualified and junior midwives, as well as other maternity care staff.
  • Collaborate with Regional Nurse Educators and the Clinical Nurse/Midwife Manager to develop and deliver targeted education programs.
Required Skills and Qualifications:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • Valid registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.
  • Extensive clinical experience in midwifery practice.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to engage and inspire others.
  • Proven track record in adult education and training facilitation.
  • Experience in developing and implementing training programs within a healthcare setting.
