About the Roles

We are seeking skilled professionals to join our team as Campaign Managers/Officers and Communication Managers/Officers. The roles will contribute to enhancing the way we interact with the community and stakeholders through high-quality communication strategies, messages, and content.

Responsibilities may include:

  • Leading and collaborating on the delivery of national government advertising campaigns
  • Developing and implementing integrated communication campaign strategies in accordance with processes and priorities
  • Managing external stakeholders on the development of the 2026 Census advertising campaign, including creative, media, public relations, Indigenous, multicultural, and research agencies
  • Identifying communication opportunities and managing risks to maintain and promote the value of the Census and us
  • Writing and editing content for use across channels, including key messages, social media, media releases, website, and stakeholder outreach

At EL 1 and APS 6 level, this role involves leading and managing staff, undertaking complex tasks, and demonstrating strong written and oral communication skills.

Essential Selection Criteria:

  • Strong written and oral communication skills
  • Demonstrated experience in developing and implementing communication strategies and content for the general public
  • Excellent time management and organisational skills, with the ability to manage complex projects and competing priorities under tight deadlines
  • Ability to build and sustain positive relationships with team members, and internal and external stakeholders
