About the Role:This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled Estimator to work on diverse projects in a dynamic environment. You will be responsible for reviewing and analyzing tender documents, managing subcontractor and supplier packages, and conducting site visits to ensure effective communication with clients, colleagues, and suppliers.
Key Responsibilities:- Review and analyze tender documents, including drawings and technical specifications, to prepare accurate and detailed estimates.
- Manage subcontractor and supplier packages, perform take-offs, and communicate with subcontractors and suppliers to clarify queries and requirements.
- Organize and conduct site visits, ensuring effective communication with clients, colleagues, and suppliers.
- Assess cost factors such as production time, materials, equipment, and labor to optimize project profitability.
- Work closely with consultants, clients, and contractors to ensure project success.
- Evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure compliance with pricing requirements.
- Provide cost-effective, value-engineered solutions and submit tenders accordingly.
- Successfully transfer awarded projects to the construction team for execution.
- A degree in construction or a related field is preferred, though significant relevant experience will also be considered.
- Minimum of five years of experience as an Estimator with a principal contractor in the UK.
- Proficient in Excel; familiarity with Causeway estimating software is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for effective liaison with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
- Capability to meet tight deadlines and handle the pressures of the role.
