About the Role:

Noffs is seeking a dynamic and compassionate Counsellor to join our team at Palm Youth Rehab. The successful candidate will work closely with marginalized young people, providing assessment, case management, individual and group counselling, treatment planning, and support.

  • Conduct thorough assessments and make clinical recommendations to the wider team.
  • Develop comprehensive case treatment plans in collaboration with the young person.
  • Provide regular individual counselling and brief family interventions.
  • Deliver case management services, including organizing client appointments, liaising with aftercare services, following up client information, and organizing client medications.
  • Facilitate planned and impromptu group sessions.
  • Support the residential team in implementing the agreed care plan for each resident.
  • Liaise with family and support networks regarding treatment progress, including exit planning.
  • Maintain accurate client records, including assessment and statistical data.

This role requires a strong understanding of therapeutic community models and the ability to work effectively both as a team member and as a practitioner with minimal supervision.

Key Qualifications:
  • Tertiary qualifications in psychology or counselling.
  • Experience working with young people aged 13-18 years old.
  • Ability to conduct clinical assessments, develop treatment plans, and provide effective individual counselling.
  • Knowledge of harm minimization principles and commitment to the aims of the organization.
  • Current and valid WWVP and Driver Licence.
  • Registration or eligibility for membership with AHPRA, PACFA, or other relevant professional associations.
