Indigenous Support Liaison Specialist

We are seeking a Specialist Indigenous Support Liaison to join our team in Western Australia. This role will play a key part in delivering a positive employee experience for Indigenous-identified employees in our WAIO operations.
About the RoleThe Specialist ISL will work closely with leaders and employees to improve the experience of Indigenous-identified employees, while also contributing to enhanced cultural safety and wellbeing across the workplace.
The successful candidate will:
- Provide personalized support and advice to Indigenous employees to improve their experience.
- Advocate for Indigenous perspectives and cultural capability.
- Champion the application of the BHP Indigenous Cultural Safety Framework and support other Indigenous employee-focused initiatives.
- Work with leaders and employees on Indigenous social, cultural, and recognition matters.
- Partner with Indigenous Engagement to facilitate engagement with local communities and Traditional Owner corporations.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Experience engaging with diverse stakeholders, including Indigenous peoples.
- An understanding of the mining sector and BHP's operating environment.
- Relevant qualifications or experience in HR, ER, healthcare, community development, or a similar field.
This role will be based at our various mine sites in the Pilbara, with opportunities to work at Yandi, Jimblebar, or Area C Mine sites, or South Flank on an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth.
Our FIFO villages offer excellent facilities, including a gym, swimming pool, and recreation rooms.
