Cost Management Role:

The Rail and Infrastructure Delivery Division is accountable for the development and delivery of the SRL East rail infrastructure, encompassing 26km twin tunnels and six new underground stations.

Key Objectives:

  • Support the successful delivery of the SRLA project by ensuring alignment with specified scope and budget parameters, focusing on cost planning and control involving budget allocation, core forecasting, cashflow forecasting, cost review, variance analysis, and cost reporting across work programs.
  • Oversee the implementation and integration of cost planning and control functions across delivery teams, aligning with planning and scheduling, financial accounting, and commercial functions.
  • Ensure timely and accurate reporting from delivery teams, consolidating information into broader SRLA program reports; provide advice to senior management on emerging matters; and recommend improvements and mitigating actions.
  • Lead and support delivery teams in implementing cost control systems and procedures in accordance with established guidelines across packages.
  • Contribute to cost risk analysis, cost forecasts, cashflow forecasts, and reports prepared and documented appropriately, checked and reviewed, and validated in accordance with government requirements.
  • Detailed reviews of tender pricing schedules, cost risks, contractor forecasts, payment claims, and variation claims are undertaken; suitable recommendations are made.
  • Project monitoring, analysis, and change control are applied throughout using best practice techniques.
  • Effective collaboration with delivery team members, departments within SRLA, consultants, advisors, delivery partners, contractors, and wider government participants is promoted to facilitate effective cost management of the program.
