Service Excellence Specialist

Hume City Council is one of Australia's fastest growing and culturally diverse councils, dedicated to delivering exceptional services to our community.

We are seeking a strategic thinker with excellent organisational skills to join our Organisational Performance & Strategy department. The successful candidate will work across the organisation, playing a key role in service planning, ensuring that council services meet current and future community needs, remain relevant and financially sustainable.

Employment: Permanent, Full Time

Salary: 97,099.24 per annum plus Superannuation

• Support the organisation to meet Local Government Act 2020's service performance principles.
• Contribute to the implementation of the organisation's approach to service management including service planning, delivery, reviews, improvement, design and business analytics.
• Assist with research and analysis of current and future trends in local government service delivery and recommend innovative service options for council services.
• Engage with the community to understand current and future service needs.
• Build strong stakeholder relationships internally and externally to drive efficiency opportunities.
• Support service areas to develop and implement service plans.
• Facilitate project working groups, meetings and workshops, as well as planning sessions to determine customer and stakeholder needs.
• Contribute to the implementation of the Integrated Planning and Reporting Framework.
• Develop and maintain key project documentation, including project plans.

• Knowledge and skills relating to service planning, business analytics and continuous improvement principles.
• Understanding of the organisation's long term goals to support service planning programs and initiatives in line with industry best practice.
• Proficient in a range of computer software, including the Microsoft 365 suite.
• Ability to manage time effectively, set priorities and plan work to achieve specific objectives within agreed timeframes.
• Commitment to contributing to a culture of continuous improvement and innovative work practices.
• Ability to provide on the job training to team members.

• Degree or Diploma in a relevant field, such as Business Analytics, Corporate Strategy, Strategic Planning, or Public and Social Policy and/or a related discipline with relevant experience; or lesser formal qualifications with substantial experience in Business Analytics, Continuous Improvement or Service Planning.
• Proven experience in project management, service planning, business analytics or continuous improvement.
• Desirable: Experience working in Local Government or strong knowledge of the sector.
