This role offers an exciting opportunity to lead HSE initiatives across a Developer/Builder portfolio.
- To achieve this, you will play a critical role in ensuring the upkeep of health, safety, and environmental compliances, provide industry expert advice, as well as develop and deliver comprehensive Workplace Health and Safety programs.
The ideal candidate will have:
- 5+ Years HSEQ Experience in Mid-High Rise Construction;
- Previous experience with direct on-site safety management;
- A comprehensive understanding of WHS Legislation;
- Cert IV in WHS (Minimum);
- General Construction Induction.
Some of your key responsibilities include:
- Providing legislative and regulatory guidance on all issues pertaining to health, safety, environment, and quality, to uphold compliance with current QLD WHS legislation;
- Overseeing day-to-day on-site safety processes and interacting/communicating with other stakeholders and delegates as required;
- Ensuring safety systems and software are implemented properly, and delegates are utilising them efficiently to maintain system compliance;
- Providing industry expert advice on WHS objectives and strategies to project teams and implementing changes if and when required;
- Providing training and development guidance to on-site teams;
- Promoting and championing a strong safety culture within the workplace to improve HSEQ outcomes;
- Conducting regular on-site inspections, managing risk assessments, and conducting audits to ensure a safe working environment and reduce potential risks;
- Investigating WHS incidents and implementing appropriate actions to ensure non-recurrence;
- Conducting daily pre-start and toolbox talks;
- Documenting and reporting points of concern and implementing appropriate actions to remediate said concerns.
