About the Role

The State Government of Victoria, Australia is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Officer to join our Public Health Priority Projects Team. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in supporting and contributing to the development of state-wide and community level preventive health policies and programs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support internal and external stakeholders to deliver public health programs funded throughout the state of Victoria.
  • Participate in and assist with contract and financial management services, including advice and analysis, interpretation and recommendation on budget management, financial compliance and performance, trends and emerging issues.
  • Contribute positively to a team environment and promote teamwork.
  • Develop and maintain effective relationships with stakeholders, including government agencies, community organizations, and healthcare providers.
  • Prepare complex briefs, letters, emails, and reports using clear, concise, and grammatically correct language.
  • Ensure accurate and complete records of work activities in accordance with legislative requirements and departmental policies.

Requirements:

  • Proven ability to manage projects and promote teamwork.
  • Sound project management skills and ability to contribute positively to a team environment.
  • Demonstrated experience with all aspects of project coordination.
  • Possess excellent and professional customer service manner and presentation.
  • Demonstrated experience in writing in a clear, fluent, and concise manner to produce written communications that are appropriate and readily understood by varied audiences.
  • Promotes flexibility and agility across the broader team.
  • Able to prepare complex briefs, letters, emails, and reports using clear, concise, and grammatically correct language.
  • Highly developed skills in planning and managing risks and ensures the use of honest, transparent, and appropriate purchasing processes.
  • Demonstrates high level of awareness of own strengths and areas needing development.
  • Demonstrated willingness to be flexible and adaptable to changing priorities with the ability to meet deadlines while working in pressured situations.
