Job Title: Youth Support Worker New South Wales

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Support Worker to join our team in New South Wales. As a key member of our staff, you will provide direct person-centred support and care to young people residing in our OOHC homes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Demonstrate a commitment to the safety of children, young people, and individuals with disabilities.
  • Understand strength-based trauma-informed practice (or willingness to learn).
  • Provide crisis intervention and ongoing support.

Required Qualifications and Skills:

  • Certification in Community Services, Residential Care, Welfare, or related fields (Cert IV) is highly regarded.
  • Previous experience in residential therapeutic care and complex trauma is highly valued.
  • Ability to obtain an NDIS Workers Screening Check prior to commencement.
  • Capacity to obtain a paid NSW Working with Children Check prior to commencement.
  • Willingness to be registered on the NSW Residential Care Workers Register.
  • Completion of a National Criminal History Check (paid by Kirinari).

Personal Qualities:

  • Resilience and commitment to supporting vulnerable young people.
  • Ability to work a flexible roster, including weekends, evenings, and sleepovers.
  • Physical ability to engage with young people in activities.
  • Computer literacy and ability to learn software/programs.
  • Current Australian Driver's License.
