As a Staff Frontend Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the direction of Canva's web platform.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design and deliver seamless communication protocols between frontend and backend systems via JavaScript-based RPC clients.
  • Explore and contribute to the evolution of React Server Components, informing the development of Canva's rendering architecture.
  • Drive strategic decisions on code bundling and delivery infrastructure, ensuring scalability with the growth of the product and engineering organisation.
  • Lead architectural initiatives that unlock scale and improve developer experience, identifying benefits and limitations of existing technologies.
  • Contribute high-level technical expertise to the development of tools that detect performance regressions before production.

You will have opportunities to lead forward-looking projects, drive clarity in high-ambiguity spaces, and tackle complex or undefined technical problems. Additionally, you will be responsible for aligning multiple teams toward a shared direction, managing cross-functional collaboration, and influencing technical roadmaps.
