Job Title: Skilling Coordinator

We are seeking a motivated and experienced Skilling Coordinator to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the operational aspects of delivering our Community Careers project.

This project aims to improve the skills and employment opportunities for people in our local communities. As a Skilling Coordinator, you will oversee the recruitment of participants, non-accredited work readiness training and project reporting.

  • You will support participants with diverse personal and social issues and direct barriers to employment.
  • You will work within a team and develop a culture aligned with our mission and values.
  • You will create individual training and personal development support plans for participants to enhance their opportunities to complete training and access employment.
  • You will facilitate the provision of personal development activities as determined by individual plans, to develop vocational and employability skills and to empower participants.
  • You will liaise with partner RTOs and local employers to maximise employment and training outcomes.
  • You will undertake and maintain accurate documentation including case notes, report writing, and program data collection as required.
Requirements:
  • Certificate IV or equivalent experience within Community Services, Employment Services, Training or a similar sector.
  • An understanding of the labour market and the issues faced by participants when planning to enter or return to the workforce.
  • A sense of resilience and empathy to work with participants experiencing complex barriers.
  • Experience facilitating work skills sessions and small group activities and workshops.
  • You must be a confident communicator and a true people person.
  • Strong IT and administration skills.
  • Excellent time management, attention to detail and prioritisation skills.
