About the Role

As a Developmental Educator with Everyday Independence, you will be part of an interdisciplinary team dedicated to supporting individuals with disabilities to live fulfilling lives. You will work closely with participants and their support networks to identify and overcome barriers that prevent them from engaging with their local community.

Job Description

  • You will conduct assessments using evidence-based tools to understand the needs and goals of our participants.
  • You will develop person-centered support plans in collaboration with the participant and their support team.
  • You will provide training and capacity-building opportunities for support teams to ensure they have the skills and knowledge needed to support our participants effectively.
  • You will contribute to the development of innovative solutions to address complex challenges and promote inclusive practices within the community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement effective support plans.
  • Conduct assessments and identify areas for improvement in community engagement and social participation.
  • Provide education and training to support teams on disability awareness and inclusion practices.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including participants, families, and community organizations.

What You Need

  • Bachelor or Master's degree in Disability Studies or related field.
  • Membership of the DEAI (Diploma of Education and Allied Instructions).
  • Valid NDIS Worker Screening Check and Working with Children's Check.
  • Current driver's license.
