Role Highlights
This position involves overseeing a distinctive collection of radio telescopes located in the southern hemisphere. You will engage in high-caliber research recognized on an international scale, disseminate your findings through publications, and mentor postgraduate research students to successful completion. Your role will also encompass delivering outstanding undergraduate and postgraduate coursework and providing leadership in pivotal areas of the discipline, ensuring that the University consistently surpasses its research performance benchmarks.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide visionary academic leadership with a focus on team development and fostering exceptional research and teaching.
- Enhance the technical capabilities of the University’s radio infrastructure for scientific and commercial initiatives.
- Secure external funding through competitive grants and partnerships with industry.
- Establish and maintain productive relationships within the University and with local, national, and international communities.
Qualifications and Experience
The ideal candidate will possess a PhD or equivalent in astronomy or a closely related discipline, along with a proven track record of internationally recognized research in radio astronomy. Key qualifications include:
