Our primary goal is to enhance mental health outcomes for people at-risk of suicide in prison by providing intensive psychosocial interventions and connecting them with relevant support services both within and outside the correctional setting.

Clinicians operating within this program will have expertise in delivering evidence-based psychosocial treatments and brief interventions focused on addressing drivers of suicidality. They will work closely with their consumers to develop personalized strategies to cope with stressors and improve overall well-being.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Deliver person-centred assessments, treatments, and interventions to support consumers experiencing suicidal ideation or behaviour
  • Collaborate with consumers to develop and implement individualized safety plans, risk assessments, and formulations of the drivers of suicidality
  • Work collaboratively with consumers within the prison environment and, where appropriate, link them with community-based services and supports

Requirements

  • Experience in providing psychosocial/psychological treatment and brief interventions
  • Familiarity with correctional settings an advantage
