Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled clinician to join our team in delivering mental health services to the community.

The successful applicant will work closely with NSW Ambulance and Police to provide clinical assessment, consultancy and support to individuals managing mental health related cases in the community.

About the Role

The Mental Health Ambulance and Police Project (MHAPP) clinician will be responsible for:

  • Providing clinical leadership in the trialing of virtual assessments of consumers who are geographically isolated
  • Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework to deliver high quality clinical practice
  • Developing and implementing quality improvement initiatives and service evaluation processes
  • Contributing to strategic and clinical service development
  • Utilizing contemporary information systems

Key Responsibilities

  • Mental Health Assessment: Conduct thorough mental health assessments of individuals presenting with complex mental health emergencies and crises
  • Clinical Consultancy: Provide expert clinical consultancy to NSW Ambulance and Police on mental health matters
  • Quality Improvement: Develop and implement quality improvement initiatives to enhance service delivery
  • Service Development: Contribute to the development of strategic and clinical services that meet the needs of the community

Requirements

  • National Police Check
  • Current NSW Driver's License
  • Advanced understanding of contemporary mental health clinical practice
  • Proven skills in clinical teaching and education needs identification
