**What you'll be doing**
As a Clinical Nurse Specialist (CNS) in the Acute Pain Service, you will play a vital role in ensuring effective acute pain management for post-operative patients and those with complex pain issues. You will consult and collaborate, working closely with other healthcare team members to provide exceptional patient care. The Acute Pain Team operates 7 days a week, providing expert advice and support to patients, their families, and the healthcare staff. In this position, you'll lead by example, promoting best practices in clinical care, education, and research. You'll also contribute to creating a positive, collaborative environment that embodies our CORE values—Collaboration, Openness, Respect, and Empowerment. **Talent Pool**

Health and will be undertaken on preferred applicants, with the informed consent of the applicant.
This role is a **Category A **role. Preferred applicants will be reviewed for compliance and required to maintain compliance with the screening, assessment and vaccination requirements, relevant to your position, as outlined in NSW Health policy directive on Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specified Infectious Diseases.
For positions designated as child-related employment, or positions that may result in proximity to children, you will be required to obtain a Working with Children clearance number from the Office of the Children's Guardian.
Please note that a volunteer WWCC (which is free) cannot be used for paid employment.
**Selection Criteria**
- Registered Nurse (Division 1) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia with a relevant post-registration qualification and at least 3 years' experience working in the clinical area of their specified post-graduate qualification, or such other qualifications or equivalent experience deemed appropriate.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively with others, and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
- Demonstrated knowledge and ability to mentor and coach nursing staff to enhance professional development especially pain management education
- Demonstrated ability in leading and initiating activities to improve service delivery and patient clinical outcomes.
- Demonstrated effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
- Current NSW driver's licence and ability and willingness to travel according to the job demands of the role.
- Demonstrated organisational skills and experience in autonomous decision making practice.
- Demonstrated skill in change management, implementation of evidence-based and best practice guidelines in clinical practice, including review of existing procedures and protocols.
