Chemical Operations Manager

The Role
As the Production Manager at Occulus International, you will oversee all aspects of plant operations, ensuring safety, quality, and production efficiency standards. This role offers the opportunity to lead an experienced team and provide resources on an international scale.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the Production Operations while supporting the Site Manager, contributing to the plant's safe operation and driving continuous improvements in productivity, efficiency, and profitability
- Ongoing enhancement of the production unit's performance
- Providing strategic leadership to ensure the safe, efficient, and compliant operation of the plant, including safety protocols, regulatory compliance, quality assurance, and environmental stewardship
- Managing all aspects of plant operations, including production planning, engineering initiatives, materials management, and resource allocation to optimise efficiency and meet production targets
- Developing and implementing operational policies and procedures to maintain high standards of product quality, safety, and environmental sustainability
- Leading and developing a team of professionals, fostering a culture of collaboration, continuous improvement, and employee development
- Monitoring production metrics and performance indicators, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing corrective actions as necessary
- Managing relationships with key stakeholders, including suppliers, customers, and regulatory agencies, to ensure alignment with business objectives and industry standards
- Ensuring effective communication across all levels of the organisation, providing clear direction, and reporting on plant performance to senior management
Requirements:
- Proven experience in a leadership role of a minimum 3 years within the chemical manufacturing industry, demonstrating strong operational management skills and a track record of achieving production goals
- Comprehensive understanding of regulatory requirements, safety protocols, and quality management systems applicable to chemical manufacturing
- Excellent problem-solving abilities and decision-making skills, with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving operational challenges
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team towards achieving operational excellence
- Understanding forecasting and P&Ls to optimise production processes
- Degree in Chemical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field; advanced degree or relevant certifications preferred
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
