Digital Discovery Expert

We are seeking an expert in digital discovery to lead the engineering strategy and execution for enhancing search and recommendation quality across our digital products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop scalable backend systems that improve search and recommendation quality.
  • Collaborate with product managers, designers, and other teams to translate product goals into measurable backend solutions.
  • Design experiments to refine features based on data-driven insights.
  • Mentor engineers to ensure high standards in software development and experimentation practices.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot search performance issues to ensure reliable services.
Requirements:
  • Deep experience building and scaling backend systems with a focus on search and recommendations.
  • Proven track record of delivering improvements to discovery systems.
  • Proficiency in Java at a staff level and strong foundation in data structures and system design.
  • Strong communication and leadership skills with experience leading projects.
  • Familiarity with cloud platforms and containerised services such as AWS, Docker, and Kubernetes.
  • Curiosity and passion for empowering users through product experiences.
