Senior Communications Specialist

This is a senior position that plays a pivotal role in the Office of Communication team. The ideal candidate should have advanced proficiency in communication, interpersonal, and stakeholder management skills.

The primary responsibility will be to support the Manager of Communications in implementing high-level communications strategies and sharing the message of key stakeholders. This will involve triage and operations, content creation and management, advisory and strategy, content production, and stakeholder relations.

  • Triage and Operations: Prioritise tasks to meet tight deadlines and effectively manage operational needs.
  • Content Creation and Management: Prepare and develop communications content for campaigns and strategies, with a focus on high-level stakeholders.
  • Advisory and Strategy: Provide advice and direct support to parishes, agencies, and offices on communications strategies and campaigns.
  • Content Production: Utilise knowledge of digital photography and videography for content development and post-production.
  • Stakeholder Relations: Collaborate with internal team members and external professionals to achieve organisational goals.

Key requirements include a Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, or Journalism, minimum five years' experience in a similar role, and strong emotional intelligence. Proficiency in the Adobe and Microsoft Office Suite, social media, and newsletter systems is also essential.

A positive can-do attitude and service mindset are crucial for success in this role. Additionally, personal commitment to witnessing and promoting the ethos and values of the Catholic Church is vital.
