Job Title: Public Engagement Specialist

We're seeking a creative and collaborative individual to join our team as a Public Engagement Specialist. This part-time 12-month parental leave contract will provide an opportunity to make a real difference in the community.

In this role, you'll be responsible for creating engaging content that resonates across multiple channels, planning and delivering strategic campaigns, and providing communications advice to internal stakeholders.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Developing accessible content that showcases projects and services
  • Writing and managing website content
  • Capturing and editing video and taking high-quality photos
  • Preparing media releases and responding to media enquiries

To succeed in this role, you'll need:

  • A curious mindset and willingness to experiment with new communications approaches
  • Proven experience in a media and communications role
  • Excellent writing and editing skills with the ability to adapt content across platforms
  • Experience with media relations and basic visual content skills
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative working style
