Family and Relationship Services Practitioner Job Summary

This mid-senior level Family and Relationship Services Practitioner position offers the opportunity to make a real difference in your community. If you're passionate about supporting individuals and families, we'd love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver family and relationship services using a range of therapeutic approaches to support healthy relationships and prevent family breakdown.
  • Work with individuals, couples, and families affected by domestic and family violence, separation, and child protection matters.
  • Conduct intake, risk assessments, safety planning, and referrals as part of our holistic support service.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver high-quality support to families.
  • Maintain accurate case notes, reports, and data for compliance and service improvement purposes.
Requirements
  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, or Behavioural Sciences, with eligible membership with AASW, APS, or similar professional bodies.
  • Strong knowledge of DFV, Child Protection, and Family Law legislation, with the ability to apply this knowledge in practice.
  • Proven counselling skills, including family systems and brief solution-focused practice.
  • High-level communication, interpersonal, and professional integrity skills.
  • Strong practice framework grounded in trauma-informed, client-centred care principles.
  • Current driver's licence, Blue Card, and AFP check, or willingness to obtain these requirements.
