Family Services Counsellor
As a skilled Family Services Counsellor, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals and families to build safer, healthier, and more connected lives.
Join us in our mission to empower communities and promote well-being. We are seeking a passionate and experienced practitioner who can make a real difference in the lives of others.
Key Responsibilities:- Providing individual and group counselling using evidence-based approaches
- Supporting families affected by domestic violence, separation, and child protection matters
- Conducting intake, risk assessments, safety planning, and referrals
- Collaborating with internal teams and external stakeholders to deliver holistic support
- Maintaining high-quality case notes, reports, and data for compliance and service improvement
- Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, or Behavioural Sciences (and eligible membership with AASW, APS, or similar)
- Strong knowledge of DFV, Child Protection, and Family Law legislation
- Proven counselling skills including family systems and brief solution-focused practice
- High-level communication, interpersonal, and professional integrity
- Strong practice framework grounded in trauma-informed, client-centred care
- Current driver's licence, Blue Card, and AFP check (or willingness to obtain)
- Be part of a values-driven organisation committed to dignity, justice, equity, and inclusion
