Job Overview:

This role is responsible for responding to fire and other emergency incidents as part of a team. The successful candidate will promote community safety and emergency preparedness by participating in community education activities.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Respond promptly to emergency incidents, working collaboratively with the team to ensure effective management of the situation.
  • Develop and maintain competencies through regular participation in drills and relevant training courses provided by QFES.
  • Maintain high standards of attendance for emergency incidents and training sessions.
  • Operate specialized firefighting equipment safely and efficiently.
  • Contribute to the upkeep and hygiene of station facilities.
  • Evaluate and report on incidents, contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Key Requirements:

  • Hold a current Blue Card or be eligible to apply.
  • Obtain employer's consent to attend emergencies (where applicable).
  • Reside or work within a reasonable distance of the auxiliary fire station.
  • Possess Australian Permanent Resident Status.
  • Hold a valid Manual C Class driver's licence.
