The Queensland Fire Department is responsible for providing fire prevention, preparedness and response services to the built and landscape environments, as well as scientific and specialist capabilities to communities.
The department provides multi-hazard emergency response services, including road crash rescue, bushfire, hazardous material, technical and vertical rescue, severe weather incidents, remote and swiftwater rescue, and supports community safety outcomes.
The department encompasses Queensland Fire and Rescue, Rural Fire Service Queensland, and works together to pre-empt, prevent, mitigate and manage the consequences of fires and emergencies on communities and support a large volunteer membership across the state.
Purpose of RoleIncident Management Capability Readiness delivers on strategies through effective operational coordination and analysis of incident management functions. The primary focus is developing future IM readiness needs for the organisation and building relationships with stakeholders and exercising systems to support preparedness, response and recovery.
The team contributes to reviewing capability readiness and capacity preparedness as per the IM Training Framework for bushfire and severe weather activities within the state operational coordination environment.
Key AccountabilitiesYou will provide high level administrative and project support, including maintaining document management systems, filing and financial administration to ensure business objectives are achieved. You will also provide management support for state operational readiness, assist with training delivery, develop best practice strategies, and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
