Front of House Supervisor Role

Light Years Asian Diner is a modern Asian dining experience offering share-style food, unique cocktails and friendly wait staff. Originating in Byron Bay in 2017 the brand has become a beachside favourite expanding to Noosa Burleigh Heads and Newcastle with each location having its own distinctive decor exclusive dishes and brand personality reflective of its surroundings.

The restaurant is known for its bold colourful and flavourful food and great team culture.

We are currently seeking a Front of House Supervisor to join our talented team.

Job Overview

The Front of House Supervisor oversees all aspects of front-of-house service including customer service section management and supporting the Venue Manager and Assistant Venue Manager in executing FOH procedures. This hybrid role requires the supervisor to alternate between managing sections and fulfilling higher duty manager responsibilities fostering teamwork and delivering exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage floor and bar operations adhering to the Light Years sequence of service and ensuring food and beverage quality control.
  • Participate in weekly meetings with the Venue Manager and Assistant Venue Manager to discuss team feedback and development.
  • Develop a thorough understanding of the reservations system and manage bookings efficiently.
  • Complete evening reconciliation and submit the Daily End Of Shift Report to Owners Ops Managers Venue Manager and Accounting team.
  • Ensure timely distribution of the Daily End Of Shift Report detailing daily sales labor incidents and maintenance needs.

  • Experienced in managing operations in a fast-paced high-volume venue.
  • Demonstrates a strong work ethic and enjoys working as part of a team.
  • Outstanding customer service skills with the ability to build positive relationships with guests.
  • Knowledge of wine and Asian cuisine is favourable but not essential.
  • Willing to learn in-house cocktails to support the Bar Manager.
