Role Summary

This is a fantastic opportunity for a senior Protection Design Engineer with expertise in High Voltage Systems – Protection, controls and SCADA (up to 500kV) to establish and grow the team in Australia.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the design, development and implementation of protection, control, SCADA, familiarity with modern digital relays, relay coordination, applications/settings as well as auxiliary supply systems for high voltage networks.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading a team of secondary system designers and supporting multi-disciplinary design and project management teams.
  • Taking ownership of preparing and delivering full scope of secondary design for new and brown field sites.
  • Maintaining client relationships to support project delivery and engaging as a subject matter Specialist.
  • Collaborating closely with internal and external stakeholders to define project goals and develop project schedules.
  • Participating actively in design reviews, risk assessments and quality control processes to ensure design excellence.

Desired Skills, Experience and Capabilities

  • Proven experience in the design of HV and EHV substation installations with expertise in secondary systems design.
  • Excellent interpersonal and technical skills with the ability to develop and lead design teams and develop strong client relationships.
  • Experience working in digital engineering environments and delivering to local technical standards and guidelines.
  • Commercially minded, understanding business needs of both Atkinsrealis and clients.
  • Tertiary Qualifications in Electrical / Power Engineering or an Equivalent.
  • NER, CPEng or RPEQ is ideal.

**Salary Estimate:** AU$120,000 - AU$180,000 per annum
