Renal Transplant Program Coordinator Position

The program aims to increase live kidney transplants in Australia and New Zealand by identifying incompatible donor-recipient pairs and matching them with other pairs.

Key Responsibilities

  • Operate and deliver the renal transplant program
  • Liaise with local and national transplant centers for coordination and registration of donors and recipients
  • Oversee organ transport during paired kidney donation surgeries
  • Provide clinical leadership and consultancy for nursing and health care professionals
  • Utilize excellent interpersonal skills for patient, family, and carer interactions, as well as external stakeholders involved in kidney transportation nationally and internationally

About You

  • Current Australian Registered Nurse registration under the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation National Law Act (2009) with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia
  • Tertiary qualification in Nursing with a minimum of 5 years of experience
  • A postgraduate qualification in Nephrology Nursing is desirable
  • Experience coordinating or caring for live donor renal transplants
  • Demonstrated organizational skills including ability to analyze issues, coordinate tasks, set priorities, and work within timelines in a dynamic environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for complex and sensitive issue resolution
