**About the Department**
Renal Medicine is part of the Alfred Health Specialty Medicine program. The service provides a broad range of care across all aspects of general renal medicine (including acute and chronic kidney disease), dialysis and kidney transplantation. The Renal team of doctors, specialist nursing and allied health staff provide inpatient care (general, transplant and consult ward service), outpatient clinics, home dialysis, satellite dialysis (Caulfield and Sandringham campuses), and kidney transplantation.

The service is also the hub for spoke dialysis services across the Frankston and Mornington Peninsula region. Education, research and quality improvement are fundamental components of the service's commitment to excellent patient-focused care.

**Roles and Responsibilities**
- Management of renal inpatient and consult care with consultant supervision and renal advanced trainee support
- Outpatient specialist renal clinics with consultant supervision
- Participation in the renal registrar after-hours on-call roster
- Clinical support to home dialysis and satellite haemodialysis units (on-site at Caulfield and Sandringham) with consultant supervision
- Active participation in department meetings
