Role Overview

As a public health advocate, you will engage with community members to deliver informative cancer prevention education sessions in various settings. Effective communication and presentation skills are essential for this role.

The team seeks a dynamic individual to join our part-time fixed-term team to cover a parental leave period. As a key member, you will play a crucial role in delivering cancer prevention programs and services to the community.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Cancer Prevention Education Sessions: Deliver engaging presentations in community settings, equipping individuals with knowledge on cancer prevention and resources.
  • Community Engagement: Attend community events to connect individuals with cancer prevention information and resources, fostering a supportive network.
  • Program Evaluation: Support program evaluation through data collection and feedback gathering, ensuring the effectiveness of cancer prevention initiatives.
  • Administrative Support: Provide administrative support for prevention activities, ensuring seamless delivery of services.
Qualifications and Skills:

We seek an individual with tertiary qualifications in health promotion or a related field (or near completion of degree). Alternatively, equivalent community engagement experience will be considered. You must be organized, proactive, and tech-savvy in preparing engaging content for diverse audiences.

A valid driver's license and WWVP Card (or ability to obtain one) are necessary for this role, as you will attend community events and engage with individuals in various settings.
