Job Title: Building Certification Specialist

This is a full-time permanent opportunity for an experienced building surveyor or licensed builder to join our team in the capacity of Building Inspector and accredited A3/4 Building Certifier.

The role involves carrying out day-to-day functions of a Building Surveyor/Inspector, including critical/mandatory stage inspections, pre-final inspections, and providing advice to clients in a comprehensive written and verbal consulting role. Additional responsibilities include attending meetings, providing advice on regulatory compliance matters, and supporting junior inspectors and surveyors in all facets of inspections and audits.

  • Critical/Mandatory Stage Inspections: Conduct thorough site visits to ensure compliance with relevant building codes and regulations.
  • Pre-Final Inspections: Verify that construction work meets necessary standards before issuing certificates of occupancy.
  • Client Advice: Provide expert guidance to clients on regulatory requirements, construction methods, and best practices.
  • Meetings and Compliance: Attend regular meetings with stakeholders to discuss project progress and address any concerns related to regulatory compliance.
  • Support and Development: Assist junior staff members in developing their skills and knowledge through hands-on training and mentorship.

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

  • A current NSW Drivers Licence
  • A4 level accreditation with the Department of Fair Trading or ability to obtain from current qualifications (licensed builder, architect etc)
  • Demonstrated experience in residential building
  • Passion and drive for the construction and certification process
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
