Urgent Care Nurse Job Description

At our healthcare organization, we are seeking a skilled and dedicated Urgent Care Nurse to join our team. As a vital member of our urgent care service, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and ensuring the smooth operation of our services.

Job Summary:

The Urgent Care Nurse will work in collaboration with medical practitioners to provide front-line care to patients presenting at our urgent care service. This role requires strong communication skills, a high level of critical thinking, and the ability to work autonomously and as part of a team.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Triage patients who present to the urgent care service
  • Conduct comprehensive and accurate nursing triage
  • Perform procedural work such as suturing and plastering
  • Provide essential health education to patients
  • Complete all documentation accurately and promptly

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • AHPRA Registered Nurse qualification
  • Previous experience in triage within an emergency department or remote nursing setting (or minimum 3 years acute care experience)
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities
