Heavy Diesel Mechanic Job Description

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Heavy Diesel Mechanic to join our team. As a key member of our workshop, you will be responsible for performing routine maintenance tasks, diagnosing and repairing complex engine issues, and ensuring the reliability and safety of our fleet.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in heavy commercial vehicle mechanical technology, with a Cert III or equivalent trade qualification. You will also have experience working with trucks and buses, as well as excellent teamwork and communication skills.

In this role, you will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, including scheduled and general services, on-road vehicle breakdowns, and preventative maintenance schedules. You will also contribute to the development and implementation of safety protocols and procedures.

Required Skills and Qualifications
  • Cert III in Heavy Commercial Vehicle Mechanical Technology (or equivalent Trade Qualification)
  • Completion of a 4-year apprenticeship
  • Experience working with heavy vehicles such as trucks or buses
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Current MR or HR licence (not essential)
  • Ability to follow instructions
  • A high regard for safety
  • Ability to meet deadlines and work to timeframes
