About the Role:
We are currently seeking a full-time diesel mechanic with a can-do attitude to support operations in our orchard and packhouse.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the maintenance, servicing, and repair of agricultural machinery and packing shed equipment to ensure smooth and efficient daily operations.
This role will also require close collaboration with our in-house auto mechanic engineer, working as a team to ensure all vehicles, machinery, and equipment are kept in optimal condition.
Reporting to the General Manager, your primary responsibilities will include:
Conduct scheduled servicing and repairs on a range of machinery including Grading machine, trucks, tractors, forklifts, sprayers, conveyors, motors, and pumps
Repair and maintenance of various farm machineries and welding
Respond to mechanical breakdowns and diagnose faults promptly
Carry out preventative maintenance to minimise downtime
Maintain accurate service records and reports
Ensure equipment is safe, compliant, and running efficiently
Work collaboratively with the orchard and shed teams to prioritise tasks
Order and manage spare parts as needed
Skills & Requirements:
Trade qualification as a mechanic (agricultural, diesel, or plant preferred)
Strong mechanical knowledge with experience across hydraulic and electrical systems
Practical experience in a farm, industrial or packhouse setting highly regarded
Ability to work independently and in a team environment
Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills
Physically fit and comfortable working in orchard and shed environments
Valid Driver's Licence and Australian work rights required
