Job Summary

We are currently seeking a highly skilled Gardening Expert to join our team in the management of Hobart's parks and reserves. This role will play a key part in maintaining the city's iconic gardens and ensuring they remain beautiful and functional for all residents and visitors.

About You

">

To be successful in this position, you will need to have a strong background in horticulture, with qualifications in plant identification, garden design and maintenance, as well as experience working with a variety of plants species. Strong communication and teamwork skills are also essential, as you will be working closely with other staff members to achieve common goals.

Key Responsibilities

">

Your primary duties will include:

  • Maintaining the high standard of gardens and landscapes within the City of Hobart's parks and reserves;
  • Undertaking regular inspections of park assets to identify any faults or damage;
  • Implementing effective preventative maintenance programs to prevent issues arising;
  • Collaborating with other teams to develop and implement new projects and initiatives;

Selection Criteria

Candidates must demonstrate a strong understanding of horticultural practices and principles, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills. A Certificate III in Horticulture or related field is preferred, along with relevant experience working in a similar role.
