Horticulture Maintenance Professional

We are seeking a skilled Horticulture Tradesperson to join our team at the City of Hobart. This role is ideal for individuals who are passionate about delivering high-quality horticultural displays and maintaining the beauty of our parks and reserves.
About the RoleThis position plays a vital role in contributing to the success of the City by undertaking planned horticultural maintenance and work programs. As a key member of our Parks & Reserves team, you will be responsible for:
- Participating in collaborative efforts with the team to achieve exceptional horticultural displays that enhance the city's amenity.
- Having a passion for horticulture and delivering quality places and facilities where people can enjoy recreation, socialising, healthy living, and other activities.
- Maintaining and enhancing parks, gardens, and reserves offering various landscapes for passive recreation, including heritage parks and natural environments. Ensure all works programs are followed and associated documentation is completed daily and delivered to the Supervisor on a weekly basis.
- Conducting regular inspections of park assets to identify faults and damage, and formally reporting them.
To succeed in this role, you will require:
- A Certificate III in Horticulture or a related field, along with demonstrated experience in the horticulture industry.
- A strong ability to organize and execute work programs to a high standard.
- A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to thrive in a team environment.
