About the Role

As a Community Engagement Officer with Hope Community Services, you will play a pivotal role in promoting mental health awareness and reducing stigma in the community. You will be responsible for developing and implementing community awareness programs, collaborating with local consortium members, and engaging with young people and stakeholders to promote positive change.

Key Responsibilities
  • Community Awareness: Develop and implement community awareness programs to promote mental health literacy and reduce stigma among young people and community members.
  • Collaboration and Liaison: Collaborate with local consortium members, young people, and stakeholders to promote positive change and develop effective strategies to engage with the community.
  • Event Planning: Plan and coordinate events to promote mental health awareness and reduce stigma, including health promotion activities, projects, and community events.
  • Communication: Develop and maintain effective communication channels with stakeholders, including social media, to promote mental health awareness and reduce stigma.
  • Reporting and Evaluation: Develop and maintain reports and evaluation tools to monitor the effectiveness of community awareness programs and make strategic recommendations for improvement.
About You

To be successful in this role, you will need to possess:

  • Relevant Experience: Demonstrated experience working with and engaging young people with mental health issues, as well as coordinating and facilitating youth programs and events.
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with diverse stakeholders, including young people, community members, and consortium members.
  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Ability to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team, including collaboration with local consortium members and stakeholders.
  • Problem-Solving and Adaptability: Ability to problem-solve and work creatively with young people and stakeholders, adapting to changing circumstances and priorities.
  • Relevant Qualifications: Tertiary qualifications in a relevant clinical discipline, including psychology, mental health, social work, or youth work.
