About the Opportunity

We are seeking 3 Finance Business Partners to join our team at Blacktown City Council. As a key member of our Finance team, you will play a critical role in supporting the development and implementation of our financial strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Partner with managers across the organisation to guide and advise on the annual budget process and long-term financial sustainability of Council's services.
  • Assist the Management Accountant Coordinator with the operation of the annual and long-term budgets, including the production of monthly budget reports and quarterly reviews.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders to ensure effective communication of financial information and analysis.
  • Provide high-quality financial analysis and advice to support business decisions and drive organisational performance.
Requirements
  • A degree in Accounting or a related field.
  • Previous budget experience in a large complex organisation.
  • Highly developed analytical skills, with the ability to interpret and communicate complex financial data.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Excel and Word, as well as financial software packages.
  • Demonstrated strong interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to customer service and a customer-focused approach.
  • Proven ability to meet deadlines and work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Solid experience in a related field, with a strong understanding of financial principles and concepts.
Desirable
  • Local government experience.
  • Experience using TechnologyOne software systems.
  • Knowledge of applicable legislation and regulations.
