Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced leader to join our team as a Strategic Procurement Manager.

This role involves leading and managing a team of branch staff, including public servants and contractors, undertaking various end-to-end procurement activities.

The successful candidate will provide mentoring, guidance, development opportunities, on-the-job training and advice to branch staff, stakeholders, customers across the department, across government and within industry.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and maintain a detailed understanding of strategic initiatives, current demand, end users' requirements, potential changes in future demand for products and services, supply markets, opportunities for product and service substitution, performance of current sourcing strategies, contracts and arrangements, and whole of government procurement strategies and initiatives that may impact the Department.
  • Lead the development of strategies that deliver Departmental and Government objectives and priorities and minimise risk, including the development of plans for significant procurement.

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Strategic leadership skills with experience in procurement and contract management.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to develop and implement effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
  • A strong focus on customer satisfaction and delivery of results-oriented solutions.
